Garage Flooring Installation in Katy, TX

The garage is the one room in the house still living on bare concrete, and it shows. A coated garage floor is brighter, sweeps clean and stops drinking up every oil drip. Pro Level Floor Coatings grinds the slab back to bare, fills what is broken in it, and lays down a floor you can park on.

The floor that turns a garage into a real room

Bare concrete is porous. It drinks up oil and coolant, it powders under your feet, and no amount of scrubbing brings it back. A garage floor coating shuts that off and leaves a hard, bright surface that mops clean.

Garages are the bulk of what we do, and every one of them gets the same six steps. James quotes the work himself, so the man who prices your floor is the man who knows what it needs.

Why does a bare garage slab go bad so fast?

Because it is a sponge with a smooth face. Concrete is full of open pores, so every oil drip and every bit of grit off the tires goes straight in and stays there. Then the surface dusts: that fine gray powder on your shoes is the top of the slab wearing away, and it does not stop on its own. Sealing it is the fix, and it is why our Houston flooring contractor work almost always begins at the garage door.

What actually happens on installation day?

One day, start to finish. The grinder goes in first thing, the floor is coated by the end of the day, and you are back on it 12 hours later. James wrote the six steps his crews follow himself, and they run the same way on every epoxy floor system we install.

How every floor gets built

The Pro Level Floor Coatings 6 step process

  1. Full diamond grind prep

The entire concrete area gets a full diamond grind to a proper CSP (concrete surface profiling). Not shot blasted, not acid washed.

  2. Crack and divot repair

All major cracks and divots are filled with our polyurea crack filler.

  3. Application of base coat

A thick polyurea base coat is applied evenly across the entire surface.

  4. Flake to full broadcast

The entire surface is flaked to a 100% broadcast, so no concrete is showing.

  5. Precision flake scrape

Once the flakes have cured to the base coat, we carefully scrape the surface north, south, east, west and diagonally. This removes the excess flakes and creates the smooth, consistent texture the final top coat needs.

  6. UV resistant polyaspartic top coat

A UV resistant polyaspartic top coat seals the entire surface. That top coat is what lets us give every customer our lifetime warranty.

How soon can I park on a new garage floor?

Twelve hours after we finish. Every install we do is a one day install, so the grinder goes in and the floor is yours again the next morning. The polyaspartic top coat is why: it cures far faster than epoxy, takes the daily wear, and seals the surface so well that the floor carries a lifetime transferable warranty. It is the same finish that goes over every home floor we coat, whatever room the concrete happens to be in.

Flake, metallic or solid color for a family garage?

Flake wins most of the time. The color chips give the floor depth and a light texture, and that texture hides dust, tire marks and the odd scuff so the garage still looks clean a month later. Custom metallic is the showpiece: pigment is worked through the resin so the floor has movement in it. Solid color is the cleanest look and shows more of what lands on it. James brings samples to the estimate. If you would rather keep the concrete look and simply protect it, sealing a concrete floor is the other route.

Straight answers about your floor coating questions

How long does a garage floor coating take?

One day. Every install we do is a one day install, and you are back on your floor 12 hours later. Grinding, repairs, the base coat, the full flake broadcast, the scrape and the polyaspartic topcoat all happen in the same day.

Do I need to empty my garage first?

Yes. The floor has to be completely clear so the grinder can reach wall to wall. Move what you can out to the driveway or the yard for the day, and James will talk through anything heavy or awkward at the estimate.

Can you coat a garage floor that is cracked and stained?

Almost always. Cracks and pinholes are filled and ground flat before any coating goes down, and most stains grind away with the top of the slab. If the concrete has a problem a coating will not fix, you get told straight.

Will the new floor be slippery?

Flake finishes have texture built into them, which gives you grip. If the garage sees water, or you just want more bite underfoot, we can add a non-slip additive to the topcoat.

How do I look after a coated garage floor?

Sweep or dust mop it, and run a wet mop over it when it needs one. Wipe up oil, gas and brake fluid rather than leaving them to sit. There is no waxing and no yearly resealing to keep up with.

Which areas do you install garage floors in?

Houston is home base, and we work across Katy, Cypress, Fulshear, Sugar Land, Richmond and the surrounding areas. Call and tell James where you are, and he will let you know when he can come out and look at the slab.
