Cypress garage floor coatings
Yes, we coat floors in Cypress
Cypress runs northwest out of town along US 290, so getting a grinder up there from our Houston base is a straight shot. Cypress is not a city. It is unincorporated Harris County, which is why the name covers so much ground and why people here name their subdivision before their town.
The two postal areas carrying the Cypress name counted close to 200,839 people in 2020, and Cypress Fairbanks ISD is the third largest school district in Texas, with more than 118,000 students. That is family housing, which here means an attached garage on a slab floated smooth and left bare. Getting a coating to stay on one of those is a preparation problem long before it is a product problem, which is the argument behind the way we build epoxy and polyaspartic floors.
What Cypress garages are actually used for
The big Cypress communities were laid out with room to spare and the garages show it. Bridgeland covers about 11,500 acres and has sold homes since 2006. Towne Lake started the same year around a 300 acre lake, the largest private recreational lake in the Houston area. Fairfield sits further up 290. Three car garages, boat trailers and workbenches are normal here, and none of it is kind to a bare slab.
Uncoated concrete gives up in the same order every time. Gray dust lifts off and settles on everything in the room, oil soaks in and stains, then tires come home hot off 290 and peel a thin coating away in patches as they cool. Underneath it, northwest Harris County is flat ground that drains slowly toward Cypress Creek, so water sits below the slab and works up through it as vapor. That is why we grind the concrete open and test it for moisture before anybody picks a color.
What we handle here
Floors we coat in Cypress
Flake Garage Floor Coatings
The standard Cypress garage is a clean, flat, gray slab with nothing on it. We grind it back to open concrete, fill the cracks and pinholes, roll the base coat, broadcast flake and finish it under a clear topcoat. Most people pick flake because it hides dust and tire marks. Here is how a garage floor is built.
Workshops, Shops and Storage Buildings
Cypress has a lot of deep garages, detached shops and metal buildings past the neighborhoods, and those floors work for a living. A coated slab stops the dust, keeps oil out of the concrete and gives you a surface you mop instead of scrub. A lighter finish throws light around, which matters in a building with no windows.
Offices and Small Commercial Floors
The businesses along 290 and the Grand Parkway run on floors that take carts, boots and spills every day. A coated floor handles that and cuts the nightly clean to a mop, and a polyaspartic topcoat hardens quickly enough to hand the room back without a long shutdown. Here is how we approach commercial floors.
Patios and Walkways
Outdoor slabs here spend the year between hard sun and heavy rain. Coating or sealing a patio or walkway keeps water and stains out of the surface, stops the chalky dust and leaves something that hoses clean. Look through the finishes we install.
Why Cypress calls us
Why Cypress homeowners call Pro Level
James Walsh runs Pro Level Floor Coatings and does every Cypress estimate himself. He looks at the concrete, tells you what it needs, then runs the crew that shows up to install it. You deal with the owner from the first call to the last bucket.
He is just as straight about the limits. Pro Level coats and finishes concrete, it does not pour or repair it, and James says so early. What he will not cut is the preparation. Grinding the slab open, filling the cracks and pinholes and checking for moisture is the difference between a floor that holds and one that flakes off in the heat.
Where you will find us around Cypress
US 290 is how we get in, and most of the work sits a few minutes either side of it. The Berry Center, the Lone Star College CyFair campus and the outlet mall on Hempstead Road are the markers everybody navigates by.
Off the freeway it changes fast. Bridgeland and Towne Lake are full of newer slabs nobody has touched, while the older streets near Cypress Creek have concrete with decades on it. Both get the same treatment: we look at the slab, grind it, find out what it is holding, then decide what goes on top.

Straight answers about your floor coating questions
Do you come out to Cypress?
Most weeks, yes. Cypress is about 24 miles northwest of Houston on US 290, a short run for us. Call (346) 278-3376 and James will arrange a time to look at your floor.
Can you coat the slab in a brand new Cypress house?
Usually, as long as the concrete has cured, and we check it for moisture first. New slabs are flat and undamaged, so once the surface is ground open the coating gets a clean start.
What is hot tire pickup and why does it keep happening?
Tires come home hot, soften a thin coating, then lift it off in patches as they cool. It happens to floor paint and store bought kits because they sit on top of sealed concrete. A ground slab under a proper base coat and polyaspartic topcoat is locked in, so there is nothing to peel.
Do you work in Bridgeland and Towne Lake?
Yes, and in Fairfield and the older parts of Cypress too. The process does not change, though a garage storing a boat and trailer usually wants a harder wearing finish.
Do you handle commercial floors in Cypress?
We do. Shops, offices, salons, break rooms and back of house areas along 290 are normal work for us. Tell us the size of the space and the hours you keep.
How do I get an estimate for a floor in Cypress?
Call (346) 278-3376 and tell James the size of the floor and how you use the room. He comes out, looks at the slab himself and gives you a free estimate.
