Houston garage floor coatings
Yes, we coat floors in Houston
Houston is the fourth biggest city in the country, 2,304,580 people at the 2020 census spread across about 640 square miles, and almost every one of those houses sits on a concrete slab with no basement under it. Our Katy base is on the west side, so the Energy Corridor, Memorial, Spring Branch and the Heights are the short runs, and the 610 Loop, Beltway 8 and the Grand Parkway take us to the rest.
Older Houston garages have real age on the concrete: oil that has soaked in for decades, hairline cracks, a surface that powders when you sweep it. Newer ones on the edges are flat builder slabs with a steel trowel finish that floor paint cannot grip. Both get the same treatment in our garage floor coating work: grind it open first, then build the floor.
What a Houston slab is actually up against
Start with the air. Houston is humid subtropical, close to 50 inches of rain in a normal year, and the morning humidity sits near 90 percent for most of the summer. Coat a slab close to dew point and epoxy hazes and lets go, which is a big reason polyaspartic suits this city. We test the slab for moisture before we talk about a system, because water moving up through the concrete is the main reason a floor coating fails here.
Then there is the way Houston uses a garage. The heat pushes work to the cool ends of the day and the space turns into a workshop or a gym. Tires finish the job: they come home hot off the freeway, soften a thin coating, then lift it off in patches as they cool. That is hot tire pickup, and a coating ground into open concrete does not do it.
What we handle here
Floors we coat in Houston
Flake Garage Floor Coatings
This is the job Houston asks for most. A gray slab that has been catching oil, dust and tire marks for years. We grind it back to open concrete, fill the cracks and pinholes, roll the base coat, broadcast decorative flake to a full cover, then lock it in under a clear polyaspartic topcoat. Here is how we build a garage floor.
Workshop and Home Gym Floors
Plenty of Houston garages stopped being parking a long time ago. Once a slab holds a bench, a compressor or a rack of weights, bare concrete works against you: it throws gray dust onto everything and drinks oil. A coated floor wipes down, bounces light back and takes dropped tools without marking. Same build we use on any floor inside a house.
Patios and Porches
Covered patios and porches take the same wet air and the same foot traffic as the garage, with sun on top. Flake with a UV resistant polyaspartic topcoat holds its color outdoors and rinses clean with a hose. Read how we coat floors around the house, or call and James will tell you which way he would go.
Shop and Small Commercial Floors
The business strips along I-10, US 290 and the Beltway run on floors that take carts, boots and spills all day. A coated floor stands up to that and cuts the cleaning down to a mop. We plan around opening hours where we can, because a polyaspartic topcoat hardens fast enough to hand a room back quickly. Have a look at our commercial floor work.
Why Houston calls us
Why Houston homeowners call Pro Level
James Walsh owns this business and does every estimate himself. He looks at your concrete, tells you what it needs, then runs the crew that turns up to do it. Nothing is handed to a stranger, and you are not chasing a call center about your own floor.
He is blunt about what he does: in his own words, we do not fix, stain or level concrete, we grind it, coat it and flake it. If your slab needs structural work he will say so rather than coat over it. What he cares about is the part you never see once the floor is down, the grinding, the crack fill and the moisture check.
Where you will find us around Houston
I-10 is the spine. From Katy it carries us through the Energy Corridor, past Memorial City and into Spring Branch, and the 610 Loop drops us into the Heights, Bellaire and Meyerland. US 290 covers the northwest side out toward Cypress, and Beltway 8 gets us around the rest of the city without crossing downtown.
Inside the Loop the concrete has real age on it and the garages are smaller. Out past the Beltway the slabs are newer and flatter. Different eras of slab, same approach: we grind it and read what the concrete tells us.
Where we work
Coating garage, patio and commercial floors across Houston
We cover the whole west and northwest side of Houston as home ground, and the rest of the city by appointment. The same truck runs north to floor coatings in Cypress, west to floor coatings in Fulshear and southwest to our Sugar Land service area.

Straight answers about your floor coating questions
Do you actually come into Houston?
All the time. We are based in Katy, and most of Houston is inside an hour down I-10. Call (346) 278-3376 and James will set a time to look at the slab.
My garage floor has years of oil on it. Can you still coat it?
Yes. Old oil sits in the top of the concrete, and the diamond grinder takes that layer off with the laitance. Once the slab is open and clean, the coating bonds to fresh concrete.
Why did my last garage floor coating peel off?
Usually one of two reasons: the concrete was never ground open, so the coating sat on the surface, or moisture was pushing up through the slab. Grinding first and checking for moisture stops it happening twice.
Do you fix cracked or sunken concrete in Houston?
No, and you will hear that straight away. James coats and seals concrete, he does not pour it or repair it. If a slab needs structural work, get that sorted first and then we can talk about a finish.
How long is my Houston garage out of use?
One day. Every install we do is a one day install, and the polyaspartic topcoat has you back on the floor 12 hours later.
Can you match a color to the house?
Yes. Flake comes in different blends and chip sizes, and metallic is mixed to the color you want. James brings samples out so you are choosing off something real, not a screen.
