Residential flooring installation
A home floor you can park on, work on and show off
Residential flooring installation here means a hard resin floor bonded straight onto the concrete you already own. Garages, workshops, utility rooms, patios and bare interior slabs all take the same treatment. Nothing gets torn out and nothing gets poured.
James Walsh sells every job himself, so the estimate comes from the man who has to make the floor work, and his crews do the grinding, the crack filling and the coating. That habit runs through our Houston floor coating services: the prep is the part nobody sees and the part that decides how long a floor lasts.

Which floors in a house can actually be coated?
Any sound concrete slab on the property is fair game. Garages are the bulk of the work, then workshops, utility rooms, patios and bare interior slabs. What matters is not the room, it is the condition of the concrete. If the slab is solid and the damage sits on the surface, a coating is the best value in the house. If it is crumbling or moving, no coating fixes that, and James will tell you before you spend a dollar. Outdoor slabs get more texture than an interior room, but underneath it is the same build we put down as a floor coating contractor in Houston.
Which finish looks right inside a house?
Decorative flake is what most families pick. Chips are broadcast into the wet base coat and locked under a clear topcoat, and the pattern hides dust and marks better than a flat color can. Custom metallic is for the room you want noticed: pigment is moved through the wet resin, so no two floors come out the same. Solid color reads clean and simple. All three can finish in polyaspartic for extra hardness and color hold. Our epoxy flooring systems page walks through how each one is built up.

Call (346) 278-3376Does Houston ground moisture change how a floor is done?
It does. Homes here sit slab-on-grade on the Clodine soil series, which the USDA soil survey describes as very deep, nearly level and somewhat poorly drained, in a county that takes about 49 inches of rain a year.
In plain terms, water sits under slabs here. That moisture can move up through the concrete as vapor and push a coating off from below, however well the top was ground. So the slab gets tested for moisture before a system is quoted, not after it has been coated. It is the same check we run before the heavier builds go onto the commercial floors we coat.
How long is my garage out of action?
One day. You clear the floor the night before, we grind, coat and flake it, and you are back on that floor 12 hours later. Every install we do is a one day install, so you get the date in plain language before the work begins. James runs the estimate and his own crews run the install. The same build goes onto every garage floor installation we book.

Straight answers about your floor coating questions
Do you only coat garages, or patios and interior rooms too?
Any sound concrete slab is fair game. Garages are most of what we install, but workshops, utility rooms, patios and bare interior slabs take the same systems. If it is concrete and it is solid underneath, we can coat it.
My slab is cracked and oil stained. Is it too far gone?
Almost never. Grinding removes the stained top layer, and cracks and pinholes are filled before the base coat goes on. Old oil sometimes needs extra cleaning first, and you will be told straight if a slab is a poor candidate instead of it getting coated anyway.
How soon can I park on my new floor?
Twelve hours after we finish. Every install we do is a one day install, and you are back on your floor 12 hours later. You get the exact date before the work begins so nothing catches you out.
Is a coated floor slippery when it gets wet?
It does not have to be. We can work a non-slip additive into the topcoat, or use a flake finish that builds texture into the floor itself. Tell James where the floor gets wet and the grip gets built in from the beginning.
Can you match the color to my house?
Yes. Flake blends, metallic colors and solid colors all come in a range, so you can pick something that works with the house rather than fighting it. Samples come to the estimate so you can see them on your own slab in daylight.
Do you install home floors outside Houston?
We do. Along with Houston we cover Katy, Cypress, Fulshear, Sugar Land, Richmond and the surrounding areas. Call and James will let you know how soon he can get out to look at the concrete.
