Fulshear floor coatings

A new house in Fulshear still comes with a bare slab

Fulshear is an easy run for us. FM 1093 comes out of the west side and becomes the main street of town at FM 359, and since Texas Heritage Parkway opened in 2021 you can drop off I-10 at Katy and be there in minutes. Same truck, same grinder and same crew that work out of our Houston, TX floor coating shop.

The city has gone from under 17,000 people in the 2020 census to an estimated 64,630 in 2025, and the median home here was built around 2016. That means thousands of garages with a clean, flat, gray builder slab and nothing protecting it, which is the floor our garage floor coating work is built around.

Brand new concrete is not protected concrete

People assume a new slab is fine because it looks fine. Bare concrete is a sponge with a smooth face, and it drinks in oil, fertilizer and rain water off the tires from the first month. A year later the floor is blotchy and scrubbing will not bring it back, because the stain is in the concrete. Coating a young slab is the cheapest version of this job.

Humidity is the other half. The 30 year normals at Houston Intercontinental put mean relative humidity around 90 percent at 6 AM and 60 percent at noon, the dew point window that hazes a badly timed epoxy (NOAA climate normals). Polyaspartic suits the Gulf Coast because it goes down fast, cures through a humid morning and holds its color. First the slab gets a diamond grind so the coating keys into open concrete. If you only want the concrete protected and easy to mop, plain concrete sealing does that on its own.

What we handle here

Floors we coat in Fulshear

Garage Floor Coatings

This is most of what we do in Fulshear. The builder handed you a gray slab, the movers scratched it, the first hot summer put tire marks on it. We grind the floor back to open concrete, fill the cracks and pinholes, roll the base coat, broadcast decorative flake and lock it under a clear topcoat. Here is how a garage floor gets built.

Metallic and Flake Finishes

Flake and metallic are two different looks and plenty of Fulshear houses carry either. Flake is the quiet one: the chips come in blends that hide traffic, and you pick off a real sample, not a screen. Metallic is the other end, a marbled finish with the color moving through it. Both sit on the same properly ground slab. Have a look at the coating systems we install.

Workshop and Home Gym Floors

The garages in Cross Creek Ranch, Jordan Ranch and Fulshear Lakes are big, and a lot never park a car. They become a workshop or a gym, and dropped weights and spilled solvent do not belong on raw concrete. A coated slab takes the abuse and cleans up with a mop. Spec it off the full list of what we do.

Patios and Slabs Nobody Sealed

The patio, the walkway and the covered porch are usually the last thing anyone thinks about, and they are out in the weather all year. Sealed concrete keeps oil, rain water and yard chemicals sitting on top and stops the powdery dusting. It is a smaller job than a full flake floor. Start with how we seal concrete.

Why Fulshear calls us

The man who quotes it is the man who runs the job

James Walsh does every estimate himself. He drives out to Fulshear, walks the slab, tells you straight what it needs, then runs the crew that does the work. Nobody sells you a system your floor does not need.

He is blunt about what this business is. In his words, we do not fix, stain or level concrete, we grind it, coat it and flake it. What he does is prep: grinding the surface open, filling what needs filling, checking the slab for moisture, and only then coating it. That is the difference between a floor that lasts and a hardware store kit that peels off the first hot August.

Where you will find our truck in Fulshear

Old Fulshear is the block where FM 359 meets FM 1093. Everything around it is new: Cross Creek Ranch north and east, Fulbrook on Fulshear Creek just south, then Jordan Ranch, Tamarron, Fulshear Lakes and Weston Lakes. We are in all of them.

The roads are why a Fulshear job is easy to schedule. Texas Heritage Parkway carries us north to I-10, FM 1093 runs east back toward Houston, and FM 359 takes us south toward Richmond.

Straight answers about your floor coating questions

Do you actually come out to Fulshear?

Every week. Fulshear is about 33 miles west of Houston, and Texas Heritage Parkway makes it a straight run. Call (346) 278-3376 and we will set a time to look at your slab.

My house is brand new. Does the garage floor still need a coating?

That is the best time to do it. A new Fulshear slab is bare concrete with a smooth trowel finish, and it soaks up oil and rain water from day one. Coating it before it stains beats rescuing it later.

Will you coat over the paint the last owner put down?

No, and neither should anyone else. Old paint and kit coatings come off first with a diamond grinder, because a new coating is only as good as what it is stuck to.

How long is my Fulshear garage out of use?

One day. Every install we do is a one day install, and polyaspartic has you back on the floor 12 hours later.

Can you do the patio and the walkway at the same time?

Yes. Plenty of Fulshear homeowners have the patio and porch sealed on the same visit. It is cheaper in drive time and the finishes match.

Do you repair or replace concrete?

No. We do not pour, fix, stain or level concrete. We grind it, coat it and flake it. Surface cracks and divots get filled as part of prep, but if a slab has a structural problem you need a concrete contractor, not a coatings crew.
